What is Own Your Movement health coaching?

Health coaching is a one-on-one, personalized experience. I create a non-judgemental space in which you can explore where you are at right now, identify your goals, and examine how your environment and routines contribute -- positively or negatively -- to your health.

At the end of each session, we’ll pinpoint small, manageable tweaks to your routine that will ultimately lead you toward your larger goals. 

Session-to-session, I provide support and accountability which, let’s be honest, we all need.

What topics or habits are included in health coaching? 

We typically focus on exercise habits, nutrition, stress management, sleep, and/or smoking cessation. Goals cross all realms of health and wellness.

I’m really busy. Is health coaching for me?

YES! Health coaching is about identifying small changes in your lifestyle that create a large effect. You don’t need to devote hours each day or give up the things you love.

Is health coaching like therapy?

While there can be some overlap, coaching is not the same as therapy. Coaching addresses your current habits and actions for future health and wellness goals. Therapy often looks towards past trauma and addresses how it may be affecting your present.

For some clients whose past trauma may be contributing to their current health behaviors, then therapy may be a better fit.

Will you be giving me a detailed nutrition plan?

Short answer: No. We use a holistic approach recognizing that health and wellness is not one-size-fits-all. We will not be providing you with a cookie-cutter nutrition or fitness plan. Instead, we will work with you to create routines and habits that fit your lifestyle and interests.
